RISK MANAGEMENT FEATURES

The FOCUS^SQL system covers a wide variety of financial instruments. However, these instruments may vary in complexity and, therefore, they are grouped into related asset classes. Parts of the system dealing with those groupings are referred to as modules and Intermark Solutions has developed these modules to be fully stand-alone products or building blocks to a fully integrated system solution.

There are 13 modules of FOCUS^SQL, and each of them has all the front-, middle- and back-office functions to be a complete solution on its own. You will find that each one is configured with analytical screens, deal capture/trade entry features, blotters and position keeping functions, as well as counterpart and instrument managers, risk scenario builders, real-time data feeds and reporting. Each module also comes with its own Value-at-Risk and Stress testing risk management components and a flexible rich-text report writer.

All modules have been built using the same basic data structures. This is important in setting up multi-module systems for clients as it makes all modules fully integral with each other for easy and accurate aggregate reporting, shared counterparty and customer management, common trade blotters and risk analysis across various asset classes.

Real-time subsystem of FOCUS^SQL is commonly used in institutions handling large volumes of orders and trades that have risk of leverage, where real-time alerts and risk calculations are critical.

SYSTEM ARCHITECTURE

FOCUS^SQL is a PC-based client-server system that runs on Windows NT/2000/XP and utilizes MS SQL scalable database. The system is open for integration with other front-, middle-, back-office and accounting systems by means of the middleware software and architectural interface components of the system engine.

FOCUS^SQL can be installed on a stand alone PC or used in a multi-user, multi-branch and even multi-site environment with delayed or real-time interaction. Details are available upon request.
